New Tool Gives Public a Voice in ACA Repeal & Replace

New Tool Gives Public a Voice in ACA Repeal & Replace

By Michael Z. Stahl, Guest Columnist
Sr. Vice President of HealthMarkets

There’s one thing that’s clear: The new President and Congress intend to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act What isn’t clear is what comes next.

A new tool offers the public a voice in determining what the next round of healthcare reform should look like. #OurCare is a nonpartisan movement, sponsored by HealthMarkets, a national health insurance agency, with a website that lets anyone create their own healthcare reform bill and share it directly with leaders in Washington. Visitors can even tweet their bill directly to President Trump.

“We believe that we need to engage the public about the details of healthcare reform,” said Michael Z. Stahl, Sr. Vice President of HealthMarkets. “With their perspective, we can create the healthcare system we all want. Because, no matter what anyone says about the American healthcare system, it’s not Obamacare and it’s not Trumpcare, it’s OurCare.”

Anyone interested in providing their perspective on healthcare reform can participate by going to OurCareBill.org. There, you can “B.Y.O.B.” — Build Your Own Bill — where you determine how you would address key healthcare reform issues.

You can then share your bill online with your social network, send it to members of Congress and even send it straight to the top by tweeting it to the President.

“#OurCare not only gives a voice to any American who is affected by healthcare reform, but we’re also pioneering the idea of crowdsourcing legislation,” Mr. Stahl added, “by combining the most popular responses into America’s Bill.”

According to Mr. Stahl, America’s Bill will be shared with media and lawmakers in Washington to influence the debate.

Mr. Stahl continued, “We need as many people as possible joining #OurCare and building bills. Fixing a three trillion-dollar industry isn’t easy, but with an open and honest dialog about the details, we can bridge the gap between the ACA and what comes next.”

You can go to OurCareBill.org, Build Your Own Bill and make your voice heard today. #OurCare
