Medicaid and CHIP Enrollment Up 25%

Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) data shows enrollment gains in all states, according to the Department of Health and Human Services, with more than 10.1 million additional Americans covered compared to two years ago.

That is a 17.5% increase over the average monthly enrolment in 2013, prior to the opening of enrolment in the federal marketplace , the agency reported.

“We continue to see greater enrollmet growth in states that have expanded Medicaid,” HHS reported, with Mediaid and CHIP enrollment up by more than 25% from the pre-ACA period . States that have not expanded Medicaid showed an increase of about 7%.
